Personal:
In my spare time, I enjoy playing guitar, exercising, and playing cards. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have 2 cats, Malcolm and Max. We also have a 60 gallon freshwater fish tank that currently has 6 large koi and 2 goldfish. We both enjoy gardening, cooking, and backpacking. We traveled to Alaska in 2000 and spent 3 nights backpacking in Denali National Park. We encountered a grizzly bear and her cub along the way but fortunately, were not attacked :-)
I was born and raised in Michigan and earned my Bachelor of Science degree from MSU in 1989. During that time, I marched in the Spartan Marching Band playing trombone. I was fortunate enough to march in 3 bowl games, including the Rose Bowl in 1988, when MSU defeated USC 20-17.
I earned my Master of Arts degree in mathematics from BSU in 2011. My favorite classes included History of Mathematics, Cryptology, and Geometry.
